John Cona is a data science and artificial intelligence executive with nearly three decades of experience architecting analytics, machine learning, and, more recently, generative AI solutions across financial services, healthcare, media, insurance, and technology sectors. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership positions including Chief Technology Officer, Chief Architect, Program Management Office Director, and Head of Research and Development, serving both established enterprises and early-stage ventures. His technical work spans predictive modeling, statistical and machine learning architecture, retrieval-augmented generation systems, model fine-tuning, and agentic AI orchestration, consistently paired with direct, hands-on engagement in system design and implementation.

Mr. Cona maintains a sustained and substantive commitment to responsible AI governance, algorithmic accountability, and regulatory compliance. He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and holds the Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) credential. His governance-related contributions encompass AI ethics consulting, algorithm auditing and assurance, and algorithmic risk and impact assessment, with engagement spanning United States federal and state regulatory frameworks as well as the European Union’s Digital Services Act and Artificial Intelligence Act. He has contributed to the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s foundational AI Risk Management Framework and holds additional certifications in AI governance from ISACA and the Institute of Internal Auditors, including an AI and Algorithm Auditor certification.

His professional and standards-body affiliations reflect a career-long dedication to the intersection of rigorous technical practice and institutional accountability. These include membership in the IEEE, OASIS, the Java Community Process, and CORBA, as well as service on the ISACA Assurance Committee for Systems Development Life Cycle auditing and participation in ITGI expert review teams mapping TOGAF, ITIL, and ISO/IEC 17799 frameworks to COBIT. He has further served as a Standing Group Member of the International Statistical Institute’s Committee on Risk Analysis, a member of the Basel II Compliance Professionals Association, and Co-Chair of the OASIS edXML Technical Committee.

Mr. Cona holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Yale University, with additional postgraduate research at the Yale Cowles Foundation in quantitative finance, game theory, and complexity theory.
