John Cona
From a background in higher mathematics and statistics, John Cona has more than thirty years experience in Information Technology growing with the field from its early days in Financial Services. Media, and Software.
Mr. Cona has served as CIO (Chief Information Officer), CTO (Chief Technical/Technology Officer), Chief Enterprise Architect and Board Member in a number of private companies and organizations.
Mr. Cona conducts independent research in applied mathematics, finance, economics, software design, artificial intelligence and music theory and has hands-on expertise in Software Architecture and Development, Project and Program Management and Business Intelligence. He has been and in many cases still is a member of a number of Industry Expert Committees including ITGI, IEEE, CORBA, JCP, TENG, Microsoft/LISTNet, OCEG, ISI, IAHFP, MTG, ISACAS, AIT Global, OASIS, ISPE and OATH.
Mr. Cona has run large internal information technology groups as CTO/CIO; led advisory teams in numerous consulting firms; managed multi-million dollar books of business; and worn many “hats” at start-up firms.
Mr. Cona has provided technical due diligence for Private Equity firms as well as provided product development and technical architecture expertise to Hedge Funds and Risk Management software firms. He has provided technical and management support to JPMorganChase, Prudential, Perry Capital, SunGard Data Systems, Sandler O’Neill, Questrade, Oliver Wyman Group, FannieMae, Fidelity Investments, Merrill Lynch, AlphaMetrix LLC, and the Ross Institute among others.
Mr. Cona has also served on numerous management advisory boards including most recently the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for New York City and has written many papers on management and analytics with a focus on technology, strategic sourcing, and software development.
